The President's Ball 2010 - Great Gatsby Themed. Ah yes, the frustrated millionaire on the failing pursuit of love. How unfortunately relevant. Indeed, at a business school where hooking up is almost expected before you step out of your room for the night, love is rare. We're taught operational efficiency. What's more efficient than finding a fun partner for the night and just going on with your life in the morning? We're taught strategic priority. Shouldn't academics, athletics and extracurriculars take priority over relationships? We're taught to multi-task. Isn't the occasional hook-up a lot easier to manage than a full pledged relationship?
Well, shit. If you think of affection as a business transaction, then you might as well forget about any sort of serious mergers for the remainder of your life and continue to short your stocks with the hopes of continued small euphoric bursts of pleasure. But wait, were you hoping for a steady stream of long term returns? If so, invest your heart. Take risks. For, after all, taking smart risks and learning from failure are what being an entrepreneur is all about.
Keep looking towards that green light and stay optimistic. We're not all the same.
This is sick dude. We gotta talk.
